Isaac wondered out loud to his father about the sacrifice they would make. Abraham had intended to carry out an apparent command from God to give up his son, Isaac.
Abraham believed two things:
1. God will provide for Himself the Lamb for the burnt offering.
2. God was even able to raise his son from [...]

It’s called sodomy for a reason. The act originated in Sodom where the men were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the Lord.
Sodomy is a sin. It’s wrong. It’s a wicked act.
In the end it was part of the reason why Sodom was destroyed along with the city Gomorrah.
Sodomy… a natural act? No way!

Abram is called the Father of Faith. He acted without precedent. Heard the voice of God, the whisper, the visit from the angel, the inkling, the dream. Somehow, God contacted him and he acted. Good for him.
But, who has more faith than Abram?
How about his wife Sarai? She heard nothing. She trusted her husband. Dumb [...]

Abram - the father of faith. I thought about that some more while taking a walk with my little girl this morning.
What was remarkable about Abram and his faith was that there was no precedent for him. We, I, do things with optimism and confidence = faith, that things will turn out alright because I [...]

Abram and his faith. I have my own questions about that. But, not yet.
God told him to go and not stop till he was told to.
“Go forth from your country…”
And, he went.
How hard can it be to uproot everything, head out not knowing where you were going. Just going because you believe that God has [...]

It’s the second time we read “Let Us…” do something. “Let Us create man in our image…” “Let Us go down and there confuse…”
There was more than one creating agent, or the Creator had help. We know that help to be the Creator, His Spirit and later we learn that Jesus was there, too.
The result [...]

Huh? What’d he say?
Ni shuo shenme?
Nan desu ka?
Shito tee govoreesh?
At some point, everyone began speaking in different languages. Weird. It’s kind of like playing the jackass game. You secretly assign animal characters to everyone in the room. They then bark, moo, meow, neigh, croak until they find their likenesses. Except, one person is assigned to [...]

The way I understand it, there are three strains of mankind - yellow, black and white.
After the flood, there were Noah and his wife and his three sons and their three wives. Lots of threes there.
Coincidence? I don’t think so.
Our earth - two thirds water. Where’d all the water come from?
It seems to me the [...]

Right after I moved to Japan we had some serious weather. The first winter it snowed nearly 8 feet. The first rainy season it rained for 11 days non stop. It might have stopped at night while I was sleeping, but while I was awake it kept raining. We watched the water rise. Friends joked [...]

There’s hardly an ancient culture that doesn’t have an account of some great flood in their past.
The Chinese are no exception. A look at their character for large boat tells a story.
It is made up of three smaller characters
small boat/vessel
and
eight
and
mouth
A boat [...]

God had made up His mind to blot out man. He was going to get rid of the animals and birds while He was at it.
Something changed His mind, however. More precisely, someone.
There was one person, blameless, righteous, who walked with God and found favor in the eyes of the Lord - Noah. Yeah, it [...]

“…for I am sorry that I have made them.” the Good Book says. God was sorry for making the earth.
Reason - the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And the man replied, “But, you made me this way. How can you [...]
