In my previous post The Power of a Blog Network – Part 2 of 2 I ended with the promise – of writing about what the criteria is for whether or not a blog network will want you and your blog?
FWIW, here is a A list of the Top 40 Blog Networks.
It’s old, which gives me pause to think, maybe I should create a new list. Good for long term traffic. Hmm… Sorry, off topic.
Question - What is the criteria for whether or not a blog network will have you?
Answer: It’s the same for whether or not a prospective employer will hire you.
Not a few people go into interviews wanting to know about the health care benefits, the holidays and working hours and such things. In short the interviewee wants to know what’s in it for them in the new position.
When I counsel folk going into a blog, um, job interview, I tell them to make a point of letting the prospective employer what it is they have to offer to the company, what it is they have to bring to the table to make the company a better place, how they can serve in the new position. Don’t ask what you are going to get, rather offer up how you can make things better.
Trying to get into a network of bloggers is the same. Let the blog network owner know you have something to bring to the table - traffic is good, original content is good, something the blog network (topic) doesn’t offer is good, contacts with advertisers is good, contacts with other writers is good…and so on.
Are you and your blog part of a network?
What do you have to bring to the table?
I own a couple of networks. Maybe you and your blog will fit in.
Contact me.
Or contact one of the networks above.
